On Wednesday 25th November we had an opportunity to take 9 children to Treviglas to take part in a sportability festival. The children were so excited especially Daniel who just smiled the whole day. We were taking part in a number of activities including martial arts with ED Byrne, archery, curling and volleyball. Our students were Sam, Lewis, Sam, Daniel, Catherine, Alisha, Jade, Sisily and Ben. We started with martial arts where all the students had an opportunity to kick pads and learn how to use correct arm techniques. Lewis especially enjoyed this. Then we went on to archery – Jade was a superstar at this and was picked out by the Treviglas Sports Leaders. We then had a go at curling which we were obviously very good at having had curling in school twice before. All the students worked so hard and I saw real improvement in their overall confidence. A big thank you to the sports leaders from Treviglas who ran a lot of the activities.
The children had a lovely day and I was very proud to take them and have them represent Goonhavern School.
