Plen an Gwair
Plen an Gwari celebration
We had a fantastic day today in St Just and all the children agreed that it was fabulous to be part of such a huge performance! Around 300 children joined together to share their art, drama and musical work recreating the ancient Cornish play which would have been performed here up to 600 years ago! Our banners were bright and bold and depicted the remains of amphitheatres from across Cornwall. Other highlights of the day also included a dragon being defeated by a saint, a battle between the Cornish and the English, choral performances of traditional Cornish songs and a recreation of Noah building the Ark. Many thanks to all our parent helpers who have supported us throughout this project and a huge well done to all the children, who participated enthusiastically, behaved wonderfully and were an absolute pleasure to be with today.
I will put all the photos on the whiteboard tomorrow so please feel free to pop in at the end of the day to watch!
